Multimedia kiosks offer an inexpensive solution to network interfacing.  Utilizing new flat panel displays these kiosks can provide convenient Internet access in a lobby or open area.  VCU uses them in their commons area for students to access registration services as well as Internet and research libraries.  They provide a convenient place to securely store and administer a high-powered server for a small or large business.  Multimedia equipment such as audio reproduction and recording systems may be locked inside and controlled by software and switches.  They are attractive and sophisticated adding a nice touch to their surrounding atmosphere.
